Our first publication is a once very popular retro game (at least in Austria), the remake of the 80īs classic underground game also called Partygames. Why we chose it was basically because we wanted to start with something easy to begin with. The only goal was to go with so called hi-res 3D models withhin a game, that means each character consists of about 30,000 3D points, which is a lot for a game. Not that the results are worth the efford. In fact the whole thing isn´t much of a game at all and you can finish it in about 5 minutes (which would be, on the other hand, quite normal for 8-bit games. Lately we´ve seen a walkthough of Ghosts´n Goblins for C64 in 5min 30sec). The subtitle "The Amorous Adventures of Don in Poserland looking for a Bride" is a bit of a joke about how we put the game together, which is we used the 3D program Poser a lot and so we decided to go with it as the name of the world, and the name of the main male character is just the name of the original 3D model. The attribution "looking for a bride" refers to the rudementary story feeling we wanted to add and which isn´t part of the original game. It´s meant to be ironic, because it focuses and links the seperated love acts as being the purse of a final goal that, as often in reality, would be marriage.
The original game was a test of speed, that means you had to move the joystick (there were very few joypads in the 80´s) as fast as possible left and right, just as in other formally popular games like Decatlon or Combat School. We decided that it would be inapropriate to copy this method and we finally decided to go with a rythmus - based control style. While you still aren´t able to control the movement of Don directly, which is precisely the way of the original game, you now try to mimic the movements of him via cursor keys.

If you happen to now of the original Commodore 64 Partygames (or Atari, Amiga, etc.), especially if it´s already been turned into a romfile which can be played on an emulator, please mail us the whereabouts or send us the rom, we would be glad to put it on this page for download. Do contact us also if you have any comments. This was a fun project and we don´t intend to go further in this direction, but if you think that we should improve this game or even make a sequel, with hopefully improved skills this time, feel free to encourage as.

This is an absolute free download without any rights reserved or responsibility taken. It´s 17MB as a zipfile. Use at your own risk.
